Big 6.2 just now showed up in the Alaska Islands 1000 miles South Southwest of Anchorage and it now looks like the time on that one was about 10am Monday Morning Central Standard Time, but just now as I compose Tuesdays EQ Blog it looks like it's among the biggest stories that we'll be looking at right here and now with NOVEMBER NEW MOON only making things such as Alaska shaking that much worse!!! With several smaller ones removed, here's what that Alaska Region currently looks like on Latest Earthquakes:

So, now the November New Moon Window Starts 11:48am Central Time Today, Tuesday, Nov. 10 and 9:48am Pacific Time. Exact Moment of New Moon will then be on Wednesday at 11:48am, Central Time and then 9:48am Pacific and that's if my brand-new conversions into "Standard Time" have worked out correctly because I won't be sure for a while if I should be subtracting 5 hours, or 6 hours for Central or how many for Pacific, but usually two more after I would subtract either 5 or 6 depending there, you know. Then, as a general rule we're usually adding a couple hours for extra measure to the beginning and end of the New Moon Window, so 11am and 9 am become something like 8:30am and 6:45am give or take a few moments there because I didn't take the time to do all the math if you know what I mean!
The big Landfall at Yemen of Cyclone Meg DID NOT happen!!! We had been watching there ever so closely and it looks like as it approached the shoreline there, there was just about nothing left of the once huge windstorm to speak of so we'll leave it at that as far as Meg/Yemen is concerned. But, don't forget it already made landfall at Socotra Island, and there already had been another big windstorm landfall at Yemen so we've plenty to watch for there! Meg/Socotra Island might affect Sudan, Libya, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Kirabati, and the Lake Tanganyika Region. The main focus on that alert will mostly be Sumatra, Malaysia, and Lima Peru! I'll try to get still another exact prediction for Peru as soon as possible, too, along with more exact info on Arica, Chile as I know I have promised.
The more I looked at that rather huge felt report from the 2.8 New Madrid Earthquake and I have now had some time to think about WHY Highland Park, Illinois and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania apparently both felt it, too, I want to guess it could have something to do with that big alert for all of that region. In laymans terms it doesn't exactly explain all those felt reports from 600 and 900 miles away, but it does seem to be telling us there could still easily be a 5 to 7 Richters Major Earthquake to follow or that all of the Major Earthquake Energy we've been watching for could be passing and in the course it is already being felt in the Chicago Region as well as Pittsburgh both directly along the path there! There's surely much more to come, there!!! Especially watch throughout the November New Moon Window, too!!! EQ Guy
