All of the shaking that has been going on got me wondering. . . just the last few days it is looking like the magic number had been 4 due to a lot of 4 Magnitude earthquakes seeming to strike at all of the swarm locations. That was when it occurred to me that we had already discovered time and again that earthquakes of this order have long been connected! Not just by way of my own earthquake blog, but there have been now other places where they have connected different seismic events most notably the connection between earthquakes in Spain with the eruption of Mt. Etna.
So, I took a look at all the earthquakes that had been striking around Oklahoma and there had been a lot of them in the last several days including some in Texas and also at least one big one there, too! And as the swarms just kept on and kept on going even with the November New Moon Window now ever farther in the past it occurred to me to ask WHY IS IT STILL SHAKING??? New Moon, yes, but continuing this long after the New Moon needs some explanation. . . and I just DID NOT have any explanation for all of these swarms to be continuing so I did some additional research into all this shaking.
What I came up with is the fact that it IS A FACT that they ARE doing hydraulic fracturing in Oklahoma, right? So, whether or not fracking can trigger earthquakes is not so much the question here as much as is the fact that Oklahoma IS shaking and they ARE Fracking there. . . AND earthquakes such as these HAVE been thought to be connected. So are all the earthquakes in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas all FRACKING Earthquakes and wouldn't they THEN also be connected to the Reno, Chester, and Mammoth Lakes Swarms? It more than appears that they just ALL got a fairly good round of 4 Magnitude Earthquakes, but was it all caused by Oklahoma FIRST getting a series of 4 Magnitude Fracking Earthquakes and then Reno, Nevada, and Chester and Mammoth Lakes, California getting earthquakes that could have been AS A RESULT of Oklahoma shaking? (Or Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas rather)
That being said, is fracking in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas causing them to shake, with that shaking being transmitted to Nevada and California. . . then isn't that INCREASING the chances of bringing about the next BIG California Earthquake? Then, is there a chance San Francisco, California, or Los Angeles could get the big one as a result of all the shaking going on around Oklahoma as a result of Fracking? Then wouldn't that mean fracking, even in Oklahoma, could cause the next big California Earthquake? Because I have even heard it said that some of the Earthquake Energy that is stored up in fault lines around California COULD release at some point. . . then it seems possible that the Earthquake Energy from Fracking is reaching California and COULD release untold amounts of Major Earthquake Energy at any moment!!! UPDATE: 6.8 Indonesia 500 Miles East Northeast of Jakarta and Christmas Island. ALSO: I will need some time to check, but those above mentioned swarms also preceded recent San Francisco-Napa Earthquake!!! Was Napa Earthquake due to Fracking? MORE in Tomorrows EQ Blog! EQ Guy
