6.9 Richters At Admirality Island, Papua New Guinea!!! MORE Coming!!! UPDATE: 5.3 Banda Aceh, Sumatra!!!

UPDATE: As of 3am Pacific Time on Monday Morning a 5.3 Richters Offshore at Banda Aceh, Indonesia! Keep a watch there!!! SEE USGS@ http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/eventpage/usb000rzt4#summary NOW, Todays EQ Blog:

Not exactly sure why they seem to want to name this earthquake after the "Federated States of Micronesia" but a very close check of that region for the purpose of locating the epicenter, revealed that it was at or very near the tip of the tiny island of Bipi Island just offshore from Admiralty Island, Papua New Guinea. Here is a link to a location where it names the actual true geological place that I also located by name on a similar Google Earth search: http://tlarremore.wordpress.com/2014/08/03/6-9m-earthquake-event-admiralty-islands-papua-new-guinea/

There has also just been a 3.0 Richters Earthquake 22 miles East of Kingman, Arizona with a couple of felt reports just coming is as I am entering this EQ Blog. Why there are two from Southern California on this felt report, I can only guess there must have also been a tiny earthquake in that region that is being mistaken for the Kingman Earthquake otherwise the reason is unknown, but probably not them feeling this same earthquake! Check out that felt report as of this writing:

CITY.ZIP....STATE.USA...........................................#.....Km
Bullhead City (86442) AZ, United States of America..1....52 km
El Segundo (90245) CA, United States of America....3...458 km
Fort Mohave (86426) AZ, United States of America...1....86 km
Manhattan Beach (90266) CA, USA.........................7...458 km

Also along that line, I had some spare time over the weekend in the hours before stopping by at the McHenry County Fair for the Demo Derby late Sunday and I checked out that felt report from the Sumatra Earthquake of 2004 that I ran the link to on Saturday. A thorough check of all the places on the list at: http://www.eqalert.blogspot.com/2014/08/2004-great-sumatra-earthquake-and.html . . . REVEALED that among a lot of felt reports from England and The UK, as well as the fact that practically every single island all around the world seemed to have felt it, and what I considered very much notable was the fact that there are 42 felt reports from Montreal, Canada!!! Amazing!!! As well as one from the tiny community of Sayabec, also up there in Canada just a hundred or so miles east of Montreal along that same St. Lawrence Channel up that way. I seems as though all of the oceans must have been victims of a lot of shaking as the Sumatra Earthquake unleashed that day and it looks especially like every single island experienced some shaking!!! But, how or why Montreal, Canada. . . the only thing I could figure out is that there had to have been some movement along that waterway that connects directly to the Atlantic in order for Montreal to have shaken like that in concert with all the other islands all around the world! And Montreal 17,000 miles away from the epicenter, too!!!

Just saw on TV where Kingman, Arizona is situated very much in the middle of where they got a lot of rain on Sunday. . . so that likely being connected to earthquakes, I might wonder if Californias chances of earthquakes is also now going up with the one inch of rain per hour reported! (Of Course they DID need that rain, just sayin') Watch California, and we were already watching there pretty much anyways, so. . . finally am wondering now just how much more shaking we should expect after a 6.9 Richters Earthquake out in the Pacific Islands? But, enough to keep watching for a while with Tuesday being Day 21, and Thursday being Day 23 as well as now it looks like Sunday will be the full moon with the August Full Moon Window starting on Saturday at 11:11am Pacific Time and running through Monday. Be Watching and Thank-You Again for Reading!!! EQ Guy
