5.0 Strikes Near Catalina Island!!! Felt In Carlsbad, Enseneda, and I.B.!!!!! MORE To Come!!!

This one struck late last night and was originally reported at 4.9, but as of this morning was upgraded to a 5.0 now!!! Felt reports continue to come in from up and down the coast along San Diego County and the epicenter was reported as 147 miles South Southwest of Avalon on Catalina Island and 155 miles Southwest of Coronado. This is a rather big earthquake to be striking that area and could be an indication there will be a lot more such movement and possibly around the San Diego Region, too, although it would appear this is only sympathetic movement of those fault lines as the result of the landfall of that Major Vortex at King City on Saturday.

There has also been a tremendous amount of shaking that followed a 3.3 up near Lone Pine, California and almost on the exact line that I have indicated in one of my earlier EQ Blogs as well as this weeks EQ V-Log! Here is the entire list of small shakers there from the good people at Earthquake Central: http://eqalert.blogspot.com/2014/03/33-near-lone-pine-california-and-lots.html The name Tulare sort of stood out on that list partly because I like to give the exact names of the exact towns that these types of straight lines run through and the name Tulare was practically in the path of this line but ultimately led to the probably more prominent town of Lone Pine, California where you could say they have been expecting to shake for some time, now! Parkfield and Coalinga were the most prominent, though, being towns that seem to much more routinely shake, you know.

Finally there was a 6.3 at Vanuatu and it would appear this is also somewhere mixed up in all the new earthquake energy from the King City Vortex and that the movement of the tectonic plate boundary between the North American Tectonic Plate at California and the Pacific Tectonic Plate could be causing some movement at those islands of the Pacific and possibly places like New Zealand and Hawaii later, too, but I do not expect anything major out that way since this was not even actually traveling along the ground such as a genuine hurricane or typhoon would have been. In fact without checking it seems to me the altitude of the major storm system in a vortex such as the recent King City one is up there in the thousands of feet range and leaves behind only minimal wind damage compared to its father-like relative the Major Hurricane!!! That's my new "Theory of Relativity"!!!

Keep Watching for more such relative movement of the tectonic plate boundary that is California and be prepared for more shaking in the coming hours and days!!! EQ Guy
